Things to do, places to go

I've got my interview with agency #2 this morning. It shouldn't be a big deal comparatively (between my level of experience and "You type too goddamn fast", as I was told just yesterday, I should have it locked) but there are still nerves. Which means I care, which in turn means that I will do a good job and get myself a good place on the agency books. Huzzah! Also got a call from agency #1 this morning, told them I was free this week and they're looking for a job for me. Again, huzzah. I just hope they find something soon -- I'm going mad with little or nothing to do.

Then again, I suppose there's plenty to do if I know where to look. For instance, there's still the Affils RPG I'm trying to write. My current thing at the moment is dice rolling systems at the minute. I'm not that great with numbers (though I can do basic stuff if I have to), so coming up with a new system all my own may prove difficult, impossible or just messy. I started working with it on the basis of Roll&Keep but in the end figured it just wasn't what I had in mind -- skills and knacks are all very well, but a bit limiting in this instance. I've also had the suggestion of house-tweaked nWoD, which is an option of sorts. To that end, I'm reading through the nWoD corebook and WoD: Mafia again for inspiration. Oddly enough, once you remove the supernaturals from the mix, the WoD: Mafia sourcebook is still a bit limited for what I have in mind. Well, it'll work out.

Plus the writing. I keep telling myself that I must start the writing up again. Too many back-burnered projects sacrificed in the name of reduced stress. Things have been a little too insane around here to really sit down and plot or compose. Then again, given the cannibalistic undead flaming weregeese in the earth's core, I think Thren's working just fine. I can't do The Day of the Dustbins, though -- that one's dodgyhoodoo's baby.

I don't dare switch Lenore (the borrowed box) off again. Every single goddamn time I do, it a) makes me start up in Safe Mode a couple of times before it'll run Windows properly and b) makes me reinstall the wireless network card. And as I'm fed up with that, I'll just try seeing what happens if I don't shut it off. Hopefully that should prevent my having to faff about with the driver discs again. I swear, the past few weeks (hell, the last couple of days) have been a real crash course for me when it comes to computers. I tell you, it's a conspiracy. And quote Freaks at me one more time and it's the parsnips for you, young man.

Going marginally insane. There are reasons. Probably not good ones, but reasons.
