Fading Suns
Jan. 12th, 2006 11:01 pmFading Suns: SO. MUCH. FUN.
So I'm playing Solita Li Halan, the fifth and youngest child (and only daughter) of Prince Flavius Li Halan, head of that noble house. So many freebies went into Nobility, Heir, Assets ... all so
dodgyhoodoo can torture me more. Meanwhile,
nadriel is playing my bodyguard, Lieutenant Ethan Something-I-Can't-Pronounce, and
weaselbitch is playing her old character, a young monk named Adso who was last seen as confessor to a wenching, boozing, decadent son-of-a-bitch Hawkwood noble named Grigori. At least one of you may remember Grigori. "Bring me women! And we seem to have run out of booze!" Anyway, we met up on Barter, and that was funny, as I was trying to talk to Adso and realised that what I was about to say sounded completely fucked up, so it sort of came out, "Well, I'm going to sound insane but I'm a duchess so you can't do anything to me, so..." I think that was quote of the evening. Though best moment was when Adso the monk wound up leading a string of half-naked, belled prostitutes through Barter to take them to Grigori. Monk's habit, stoned prostitutes... Quite the picture. We've halted in Barter at a plush hotel to wait until we can throw
lokean into the mix, but after
nadriel beat off a bunch of ruffians, he went to charter a ship and and didn't bother to mention that it was for the Duchess Li Halan, so the ship pilot insisted on dealing direct with his 'boss'. The ship captain is going to be very surprised when the 'boss' walks up with her small retinue, looks at her in an "I'm offended" sort of way and say, "Duchess Solita Li Halan".
(Oh, yes, that was another line I liked: "I'm hurt ... I'm offended, and ... *gestures to bodyguard* he's armed, so..." Duchesses get away with everything in certain circles. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.)
One more day and then it's the weekend! Sunday is Mage, and I get
nadriel and
lokean back! And then they're going to try to raze a Technocrat base to the ground! Whee!
And hey: d20s? Not evil. Who knew?
