My Fandom Is On Crack Again...

This is only going to make sense to the ASOIAF fans on my flist. Sorry!

So ... yeah; I'm a member of the westerosorting community - sorted into House Lannister, like, a year ago or something. (With an eleven vote difference between that and the next-highest House, Targaryen. And this from someone who got voted Hufflepuff over at sorting_elite. Go figure.) And every year, the community has a character meme. As well as character stamping, they vote on the comm's resident [insert character here]. First there's nominations, then there's campaigning, then there's polls and voting. It's a thing. I really didn't expect to get nominated for anything; I'm not hugely active, though I try to make an effort in sorting and I am in the crack "Westeros High" RP.

I ... got nominated. A fair bit, actually. For the following characters:

Aeron "The Dhampair" Greyjoy
Kevan Lannister
Lann the Clever
Tyrion Lannister
Arianne Martell*
Margaery Tyrell*

The two characters with the asterisks ... they're the ones I play in the crack RP. And yes, it's total cracky goodness. My Arianne Martell dated Sandor briefly, had Theon Greyjoy after her arse, is close friends with Robb Stark (who is pining for his weird quasi-incestuous sexytiems with Theon Greyjoy) and is currently crushing on Beric Dondarrion - oh, and she's Doran's cousin, not his daughter. Then there's Margaery, who's currently having a serious relationdateshipthing with Davos Seaworth and double-dates with Sandor Clegane and Sansa Stark (who are now Cute Coupling it up all over Westeros High) on a fairly regular basis. So ... y'know, canon is not ... exactly ... a priority. You know, when your girlie sleepover is Margaery Tyrell, Sansa Stark, Elia Martell, Dacey Mormont and the Tully sisters (yeah, this is before Eddard Stark and Jon Arryn, and that whole unfortunate Multiple Character Death issue) yammering about BPAL and Dolorous Edd takes a life-size cardboard cut-out of Alice Cullen to prom, you know your plotline is on crack. And so your characterisation in the crack ... possibly could get you nominated as that character... Maybe?

Eh, I dunno. It amuses me. And I dunno where the Dhampair thing came from. I mean, I can maybe see it, but ... I don't know why I can see it.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes. It'd be nice to actually get voted for something, but mostly I just want them to unscreen the nominations pages. I want to see who voted me for these things, and why. It's interesting to see myself from another perspective.

That said ... I'm out and about tomorrow - Mum-lunch. And there shall be writing. Must and shall be writing. I think I've found a tack I like better for Chapter 17, so maybe it will stop kicking my arse.
