More Computer Woes

My computer is borked in all sorts of new and interesting ways today.
I went onto FFXI. Got into North Gustaberg and everything slowed up. I mean, everything. So I tried shutting down and going at it again - and again, slow and horrific. So ... y'know, not good. So I shut down for the night and now I'm fretting more than I really want to at this time of night because
dodgyhoodoo wants to start up this bit of software that my computer used to have on it that tells you the specs of your system without you having to, for example, open up the case.
So I try (and fail, me being me) to be patient as he backseat-clicks me over to the places where it ought to be. And when we can't find it, I inform him - probably too harshly, oops - that it doesn't have to be done tonight. But something had caught my eye so I thought I'd go have a quick look-see at "My Computer" again. And guess what? It can't find my other hard drive. AGAIN. I do not need my computer dying on me right now. I can't afford to replace it, for one thing. Though at least I can guest login to my deathgnome on the 360 if things aren't fixed by tomorrow, so I won't have to worry too much about, for example, my garden dying on me until this gets fixed.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to restart my system. I downloaded the latest iTunes version in the hopes that it will cure this aggravating little skipping problem it seems to have developed (though it's the computer rather than the software, I think, because the iPod works just fine). Then I installed that system info programme again onto a drive my computer actually recognises as existing, so maybe there'll be more news forthcoming about what the fuck is wrong here later on. I dunno.
