Jeuno No Longer Exists

My desk chair at the office hates me and I think I may have sprained my right middle finger or something, though it seems okay (well, ish) as long as I don't try gripping or manipulating anything particularly heavy. So by the time I got home it was world of pain and all I wanted to do was lie down and die for awhile. dodgyhoodoo and weaselbitch. So I got up, nuked some random dinner that I didn't really have any appetite for and logged into FFXI, preparing to get a chocobo out to Bastok to meet the gang.
Except ... well, when I logged on, I was getting no signal. Receiving nothing. Couldn't leave the mog house. So I logged out, logged back in again ... out in Lower Jeuno but still not receiving (Jeuno looked empty because I wasn't receiving all the data for the NPCs and other players) and generally fucked. I logged onto my mule. My mule was fine.
...Interesting.
So after an abortive attempt or two, I finally ran out to Rolanberry Fields, logged out. Logged back in ... and it was working fine. Which means that Jeuno is, not to put too fine a point on it, royally fucked. So I could play, provided I could get out of Jeuno and into one of the other areas. Except the problem is that ... well, Rolanberry Fields is not a good area. It is a high-level area in which I would get squished. I could probably survive Pashhow and definitely Konschtat, but not Rolanberry. And if I die, not only do I delevel, but I also go back to my homepoint, which is in ... Jeuno. So that's just not going to work.
So it looks like I'm not playing FFXI tonight. And I miss out on all the fun. And I am grumpy as all hell about this. And of course I can't call tech support because tech support only runs from 9 til 5 on weekdays. Gah.
