Die, Die, Die, My Hard Drive

I definitely need a new hard drive. My primary's fine, so far as I can tell. However, my nice big F drive? Borking. I mean badly borking. As in "corrupted files" borking. As in "I have moved all my music to my C drive for safekeeping". And yet I have still lost things, most notably my entire collection of Offspring albums. Well, the ones I don't have on CD are few and far between, and I meant to get the entire discography anyway, but even so ... meep.
So yeah. So much for my nice huge hard drive. I'm leaving the old files on there as sort of a backup, but on the whole, I think I want to move anything vital over to C, like, right now.

under the s.m.a.r.t. tab, find that F: drive and run an online analysis. that will tell you if it's actually physically dying or if windows is just miswriting to it.
