thessalianSo off I go and beat things up in Gustaberg South. I was doing really well, but got impatient and started whacking things I couldn't handle. Next thing you know, I'm dead at the hands of some nasty Rock Lizard. Wah. Well, I'm still only about 400 exp from lvl 10 there, so I'm happy.
Then I went to the Auction House to see how my auctionables were going. See, I decided to jump the gun a little and sell off my old lvl 12 armour at the Auction House so I could afford nice shiny new lvl 20 armour when I got my black mage exp level back up. (Yes, this does mean that I'll be soloing Konschtat Highlands in really crappy armour, but it's only about 400 more exp so I'm not exactly shaking in my purple fuzzy slippers about it - I'll get that done tomorrow, I think, unless I can't sleep tonight, in which case I might as well treat myself.) Anyway, when I got back in from the killing, I checked my delivery box and found that all the really expensive shit had sold for a whole lot of gil, so I was now a lot richer than I'd imagined myself to be. And I could afford two of the pieces of really high-level armour on my list - yes, I have a list, leave me alone - with a bit left over for a couple of spells (when I get around to it). Now all I need to do is solo enough to be able to equip it (in my really shitty lvl 1 armour) and voila! Extra protection for your gil. My next step after that is to go back to farming and upping my WHM level so I can afford the spells I need, and then I will make my weary way over to Qufim and level BLM up to 25. Then, I'm afraid, it's back to Valkurm to level WHM from 12 to 20. Ugh! Still, it's nearly impossible to solo WHM past a certain level (as I'm rapidly discovering) and WHMs are in serious demand in the Dunes, so maybe it won't be so bad. And pigs might fly, I know.
My gaming got interrupted by one too many people IMing me. FFXI doesn't like it when you try to pop up another window while playing. Bleh. Stupid programme. Thankfully I was only in my mog house at the time, so it's not like anyone got me deadified, but it's still a bit of a pain in the arse when one minute you're in the middle of something and the next the screen goes black. There's always that panic as you try to figure out what the fuck just happened.
I hadn't realised how much I missed running Mage until I did it today. Fine, I'm worn right out, but I still had an excellent time. We're moving on to endgame now, and the next thing on the Skank/Lucius joint agenda is to meet up with a whole bunch of representatives of the Changing Breeds. They even got the Red Talons involved, which is quite an achievement. On the whole, I think they might get through this successfully - fine, doom for Skank. There's always doom for Skank. Hey, he asked for it. Plus I get to use Lorrie again for a bit. I like Lorrie; she's tons o' fun. Shame about the shitty game I submitted her to.
