thessalianTaru v. dhalmel = funniest-looking deathmatch ever.
This is about what it looks like. Dhalmel are big, big, big critters that shake the earth if they walk past you too close. Taru are tiny, tiny, tiny critters that, at least in my case, can cast spells of unholy doom. Whoopee. And it turns out that I can intermittently kill these things. Which is good, because the EXP rewards are good and the drops are better still. Not so good is the fact that occasionally, they get me before I get them. However, I have negated this horrible possibility for the moment by a Scroll of Reraise, which means I won't lose more EXP than I have to by homepointing.
Meanwhile, the people in my LS are talking about runs in Qufim (high-level spot) and Khazam (higher still). Except for the lvl 11 Taru RDM who invited me to the LS in the first place, who's still lvl 11 and talking about changing to BLM. He was also telling me about the fact that he occasionally tanks. Tarus have the approximate HP of dryer lint and ... just no to taking the predominance of the aggro. It's kind of like Galka or Elvaan (the races with the lowest mana points) playing mages. Just ... no. I get the impression, what with the Elvaan red mage and the tanking Taru red mage in this LS, that I may have fallen in with at least a few n00bs. Oh well. At least they're nice n00bs. And I taught one of them (who was lvl 22 at the time) how to fish. Wish I'd had someone teaching me how to do that when I was starting... Ah well, it's nice to help, and I'm sure once I level a bit more, we'll all help each other with other stuff.
Well, at least this all takes my mind off being ill. I'm giving it a few more minutes because I hate Tahrongi by night. Too many ghosts and skeletons; not enough dhalmel and canyon crawlers. (They link up and invite friends to the party, the new crawlers. Bastard things. But I've been practicing against multiple critters in the lower-level zones of Tahrongi so I'm getting used to it now. Now that's when Area of Effect spells come in handy...)
