I love the Internet Movie Database. I was looking at the cast list for Pump Up the Volume (which ties with Heathers for my favourite Christian Slater anti-establishment movie ever) and found Seth Green and Juliet Landau. You can see it when thost two got back together on the Buffy set.

JULIET: Hey. Don't I know you?
SETH: Well, I've been in stuff...
JULIET: No, I mean, I've acted with you before.
SETH: X-Files?
JULIET: No.
SETH: Cybill? Drew Carey? Not Mr Belvedere.
JULIET: God, no! I seem to remember ... feature film.
SETH: (thinks) High School thing?
JULIET: Yeah! Filthy pirate radio! Happy Harry Hardon! That's how I got my start, you know.
SETH: Pump up the Volume, yeah. Cool movie. 'You want whale sperm with that?'
JULIET: Christian Slater faking masturbation. God, what a turn-on!
SETH: ...What?
JULIET: Too much information. Got it. So what are you in this?
SETH: Bass player werewolf. You?
JULIET: Insane seer vampire. Sired by Angel, sired Spike...
SETH: Dude. Incestuous.
JULIET: Mmm-hmm. But the threesome action could be awesome ... if Whedon wasn't such a spoilsport.
SETH: You're disturbed.
JULIET: I'm in acting. I kind of have to be.
SETH: Word.

Or something. It's a bit like reading the cast list for Silent Hill and finding out that half the main cast has been in The Outer Limits. You can see them getting together around the coffee pot, going, "Here we go again, with the weird." Not that that lot have probably been on the same sound stage, but maybe they noticed each other at auditions. It just amuses me how the Six Degrees theory works with actors.

(Oh, I also theorise that the character of Jane Lane in Daria is at least in part inspired by Samantha Mathis' character Nora in this movie. Black hair, bright red lipstick, mad artist with a thing for the sarcastic iconoclast type in her friendships... You make the call.)

I need to give my brain something to do through the being sick, I suppose. Whee. Hey, here's a challenge for you - go through your favourite late 80s / early 90s movies on IMDB, particularly if you're the kind of person who watches stuff and goes, "I know that person from somewhere". Find out where they came from. You never know what surprises you'll turn up.
