...Someone please save me. I'm starting to get curious about World of Warcraft.

Oh, don't blame me. Blame this guy off CbN, who introduced me to Bannable Offenses (that's how they spell it; don't blame me for that either. Consider me blameless here). It's like BofH meets Acts of Gord for the FF Online set. Stupid people bannings and a nearly Ellisian ranting style. Okay, a little lighter on the shitting onesself and the rampant drug abuse, but there's lots and lots of whiskey. It's like watching Davan from S*P GMing one of those MMORPGs.

And now, I'm curious. I mean really, really curious. It's not like I'm not already playing the good-for-the-$12-I-paid-years-ago-for-the-unlimited-deluxe-package Adventure Quest, which seems to be amateur WoW with fewer features. I just want to see what the fucking thing does.

I am becoming One Of Those People. SAVE MEEEEEEEEEE...

Or at least tell me the relative merits of FF, WoW and EverCrack. Either way.

oooh, not you two :p the game is really not worth it. And if it wasn't for for the fact that my girlfriend was playing it to I would have stopped a lot sooner then the 2 months I lasted in it. It really just boils down to a LOT of hours burned away and little to show for it in terms of intresting content or (god forbid) any sort of story. At least seems involves a measure of creativity.

I thought I'd try Everquest once, about 6 years ago...but when I tried to install it, it promptly crashed my computer. I think my computer was trying to tell me something.

I hate MMORPG's so very, very much...it's like buying a CD, and then having to pay every time you want to listen to it! Bleh. If I wanted to chat while playing a mindless game, I'd fire up Trillian while I played Spider Solitaire. At least that's free.

JUST, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, don't go on an RP server unless you want to be ganked.
And try to avoid the normal servers, too. From what I've seen, p3opl3 t4lk l1ek d1s. @_@

What do you mean by ganked? I've spent the entire time it's been running in this country on one, and I don't think I've been ganked. Whatever it might be.

Ganked is when you're PVP on a PVEP server (which is ALL THE TIME once you hit level 20), say you're defending a town , and a MUCH higher level comes up and kills you. For this reason, PVP servers are pretty difficult to survive to higher levels unless you travel in groups.

I thought you might be talking about PvP or RPPvP servers. It's one of the reasons I've stayed away from those servers - sure it's more realistic, but I'd rather be able to wander around and do quests, and indulge in PvP as and when I feel like.
