Characterisation

Out of boredom and a desperate desire to play something, I have decided to sign up for The Hollow City, a WoD message board RP. It's kind of amazing, the things they've restricted or outright banned for applications in that game. For instance, no one's allowed to take Dark Fate. I suppose most people screw it right the hell up, and that I'm spoiled because I've got one of the few players out there who apparently knows how to play it. There are some other Merits and Flaws which aren't allowed, notably Iron Will and Unbondable, which I suppose makes sense; easy to abuse in a game full of vampires where they're actually putting out a call for Werewolves because there just aren't enough of the buggers.
Not that werewolves don't have restrictions. The anti-twinking measure taken in the case of Werewolves specifically is to ban Silver Invulnerability. Silverbacks and Wendigo and a couple of other tribes are heavily restricted, while Red Talons are outright banned. I would have happily played a Black Fury or a Fianna, but those were just 'Open' rather than 'Encouraged' and I thought I'd make their lives easier. It makes up for the fact that I picked up a one-point Fetish in Backgrounds. They don't like Fetishes as Backgrounds, though I'm hoping they'll consider mine. It's actually something that makes sense for the character to have, and I've written in a good reason why she has it (gifted to her after winning out in single combat against a Fomor). What really surprises me is that Glasswalkers are listed as 'Encouraged', which indicates that there are nowhere near enough of them in game. There aren't enough Glasswalkers? I'd have thought a game based in San Francisco would be crawling with Glasswalkers!
Anyway, I've submitted my character: Grace Curran, Galliard Glasswalker, auto mechanic, storyteller and musician; sweet but ever so slightly dim. I hope she gets accepted. I do like her.
It's been a slow day, which is why I spent most of it tweaking stats. I'm still knackered, though. Did not sleep well at all last night, thank you. (Snore. Snore. SNORE. Argh.)
