The Beauty of LiveJournal

Anyone want to tell me how this exchange makes any sense at all?
I know, I know, I shouldn't feed the trolls, or be baited by same. But I haven't had a good solid dose of idiocy in awhile and probably could use the reminder that it's out there, hurting people and generally being ... well, just being. Apparently this guy goes onto random LJs and gives unsolicited advice, heavy on the Bible-bashing thing. I wonder if he's related to that guy who told those girls in my tent group at Camp Koresh that they were going to hell because they didn't speak English. Actually, I wonder if he is that guy. Anyway, he's doled out weight-related 'advice' to someone and generally been a troll and a dick. And recently it's the whole 'homosexuality is a choice that people must unchoose' and he actually made a post out of his reply to my comment on an earlier entry.
This is why I love LiveJournal. You get to see the whole gamut of human experience, poke it, prod it, see what makes it tick. Then you can find individuals with different outlooks to your own and try to exchange views. No matter how ludicrous some of those views come across, it's all experience.

Date: 2006-02-21 05:39 pm (UTC)"Real Christians are chosen by God." There's the clincher. I was under the impression it was the other way around, the sacrifice of the Christ redeeming anyone who openly accepts it. The "chosen" epithet smacks of the Elect to me.
If I can understand that bit, as a hoodoo-voodoo-all-gods-are-bastards-but-gotta-love-em witchipoo, I do wonder why it's so hard to grasp for some people who claim the Christian title. Hey ho.
