I must sort convention shit. Having discovered that there is at least one Googleable RPG con in San Francisco (ConQuest), and it happens in September (in time for the Geeks and Techies release, no less), I have decided that I must go. I wanted to go back to SF anyway. Of course, that does not preclude finding out about getting Team8 to run Affils at that convention in Cork, getting to Battlemasters in April, and possibly trying some of the other UK-based conventions. One day, I might do GenCon Indy, but frankly, I just don't see the point. Yes, huge gaming convention, but it's an awfully long way to go just for a gaming convention when I could go to ConQuest or GenCon Anaheim or any number of others and turn the con trip into a holiday with the added advantage of seeing friends in the US. It will possibly be different when I know a few more people, because then it'll be an excuse to see them as well as just a trip to pimp my game.

The Christmas holidays are coming, hurray! We're getting out of the office at midday on Friday, which is also payday (double hurray) and so I can spend the rest of the afternoon watching last-minute shoppers and possibly even doing some of it myself. The thing is, though, that since it lacks urgency (I have [livejournal.com profile] dodgyhoodoo's present, [livejournal.com profile] weaselbitch has hers already and everyone else doesn't stand a chance of getting theirs until after Christmas anyway), it'll be more fun to watch people run around like idiots trying to pick stuff up. I'm sadistic like that sometimes.

[livejournal.com profile] lokean? Quotes? Please?

I'd love the excuse to not be working in a college in September. SF next year would be fun (though their website's horrific!)

As for Warpcon, it's in Cork 27th-29th January - must contact Team8 about that one, though I'd quite fancy going myself (expense probably says no, though).

I'm aiming to close up here at lunchtime on Friday too, so I might be able to join you for the panic-watching. Assuming I'm not doing the panicking over supplies myself, that is.

Warpcon's kind of short notice (there will not be another panic "get it all done in a month" situation like there was with Dragonmeet) but we could always try Leprecon (I know, it's horrible, but I didn't make it up) or any of the other Irish RPG conventions. There's time for us to get the stuff done. But we're going to have to work something out about manning the booth because if I'm running (and let's face it, I probably will be), you're stuck on a booth on your own unless we can either find help there or dragoon people into coming on holiday with us.

I think the Leicester con in April and ConQuest SF in September is probably quite enough to plan for now ;)
