treehavn made a very good point earlier, so I suppose I should make it clear -- fair warning and all. Any spoilers, no matter how small or evidently pointless, that I receive for Serenity before I actually go and see it in the cinema will be met with wrath currently unknown to humanity. There will be torment, I tell you. This goes doubly for my American compatriots, who know full bloody well that it's released in the UK a week after it comes out in the US. I'm talking boiling blood and small amphibians sewn into the perpetrator's genitalia here.

I don't really understand the point behind delayed international distribution. Surely it's possible to get the damn films out all over the world in one day. I suppose the distributors are worried that shipping it to the UK or wherever early will give bootleggers a better chance to get their grubby mitts on it before release date. If films are still distributed to cinemas on celluloid (and they may not be, for all I know), is that really that much of a problem? You have a bigger problem, I'd have thought, with UK geeks with broadband, IRC and very large hard drives downloading some crappy version that some American has recorded with one of the teeny tiny digital video cameras they make nowadays. And they arrange it with some films. I was fairly sure they released the Lord of the Rings films on the same date internationally. And they can do it with books -- Harry Potter proves that (even though, thanks to time zones, I can get that one before my American friends. Hee!).

TV is worse. We're on Lost season 1, ep 8 or 9. The US has just got the Lost season 2 premiere. *snarl* And surely it's easier to get broadcast material from one continent to the other than it is film reels? It's kind of sucky that the Brits get the short end of the stick continuously. Consider Neverwhere. British TV series based off a British book ... and the DVD's only available in the US. How much sense does that make? England happily shares its entertainment with the Americans. Can we please be done the same courtesy?

Alignment:
True Neutral characters are very rare. They believe that balance is the most important thing, and will not side with any other force. They will do whatever is necessary to preserve that balance, even if it means switching allegiances suddenly.


Race:
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.


Primary Class:
Bards are the entertainers. They sing, dance, and play instruments to make other people happy, and, frequently, make money. They also tend to dabble in magic a bit.


Secondary Class:
Mages harness the magical energies for their own use. Spells, spell books, and long hours in the library are their loves. While often not physically strong, their mental talents can make up for this.


Deity:
Gond is the True Neutral god of artifice, craft, and construction. He is also known as Gond Wonderbringer. His followers believe that 'actions count' - that is, that what is accomplished in the end is what is truly important. They wear saffron clothing, with red sashes containing all manner of mechanical devices. Their preferred weapons are firearms, since the followers of Gond had a large hand in their making and invention. They also wear plate mail (no shield), but generally prefer to have bodyguards, instead. Gond's symbol is a toothed wheel, made of ivory, bone, or metal.
