In With a Bang and a Burning

Happy New Year!
cholten99 decided to ring in the new year atmospherically, with tea light candles and the TV doing the countdown. Unfortunately, the tea lights weren't in anything, and he set them by the windows. Our dear attention-sucking cat Yuki likes to lounge on the windowsill and look out the windows. Therefore, about ten seconds after midnight, she ran her tail into one of the tea light candles. Yes, and set her tail on fire.
There will be no more jokes about setting the cat on fire, putting her in the oven or at least anything heat-related. It's a damn good thing our cat is mostly Persian and the flame didn't even touch her skin -- I've never seen
cholten99 move so fast as when he went to put her tail out. She didn't even notice anything was wrong; now she's just a bit nervy of the fireworks outside.
The flat now smells of burnt hair. Go, Yuki.

Re: Hmmm
Date: 2005-01-01 12:58 am (UTC)It's one of those things that just couldn't happen to a rat - hairless tails don't burst into flame without anyone noticing...
