Girls on Top

I am still in pain and abysmally tired, but despite all that, I am back at work. It seems there was a temp so the typing is done yay! Of course, I'm not sure if any of the consultants have actually seen the typing, since the temp's answer to not knowing the address she was supposed to send something to was "Well, I'll just leave it blank and let it sit in DMS until someone comes back and looks through the whole mess". That could have been a lot more unfortunate if Dr Slevin hadn't asked one of the patients who's supposed to be having a request for a PET scan sent out on his behalf to nag. Oi.
But of course, it's only the stuff that I actually nearly enjoy doing that the temp did for me. Violet came into my office this morning (to her credit, she asked how I was feeling before she launched into this) and informed me that the DNAs (Did Not Attend) for last week were apparently sent back to medical records in the interim. It is now my job to go retrieve the fucking things. This is despite the fact that I'm not supposed to be hauling notes etc around because she herself told us that insurance doesn't cover us for any injuries we receive portering on the basis that it's not our job. I suppose needs must, but it's still really annoying. There were also things like new patient bookings and the rest of it but that was easily taken care of and since I haven't got three consultants' worth of typing on my hands, I think I'm pretty much on top of it.
Speaking of being on top of things, after much dicking around with virtual memory and directory clearance, I managed to get my Sims expansions to install. On the one hand, this is a good thing because there is much fun to be had. On the other hand, now that I'm running Sims Deluxe Edition with House Party, Hot Date and Unleashed, it's all got rather complicated. There's pets and people all over the place and I'm considering abandoning the fully set-up neighbourhood altogether on the basis that it's going to drive me absolutely batshit. Instead, I'll just build my own with a minimum of characters to start with just so that I can figure out what's going on. Then there's refurnishing; I cleared my Objects cache along with everything else (at least I saved the skins) so now I need to find all my funky hacked objects all over again. Gah.
Plus Sunday is Mage. I need to sit the gang down and explain the extra XP thing. Toos and
cholten99 are up to date as far as letters to mentors etc are concerned, and
nadriel is only a session behind with
kuo_li, so they'll be getting their XP for that next session, points to be determined by amusement value. After that, there are a few other things with regard to XP and other bonuses that I want to discuss with them, namely things involving foci. Though I suppose foci aren't everything, as evidence by a conversational snippet from last session:
Me: Okay, what do you want to do?
Mark: I want to use [insert focus here].
Me: Um ... that's great, Mark, but ... what is it that you want to do, exactly?
