Anyone remember my last job? When we had the radio that seemed damn near continuously set to Heart 106.2? And I was usually on the verge of unplugging it and jamming it down someone's throat?

Well, someone out in the open-plan office bit has brought in a radio. Guess what station they're playing. Go on; guess.

I need a radio of my own. Or a door to my office. Or a shotgun.

Are you allowed to listen to internet radio?

I must get the hang of this internet radio biz before I start my possible new office job.
Is it like every radio station has its line up or whatever on its website?
So instead of listening to whatever shite people are bound to have, like Shania Twain, I can safely listen to The Smiths or Velvet Underground or something less offensive and putrid?

*hopeful*

oh yes! There are certain stations that are dedicated to only one band. live365 has tons of them. I quite like BBC6 because they play genuinely good music almost all the time, with little talk.

Not so much "not allowed to". Unable to -- no soundcards in the machines. I work in the NHS, where the motto tends to be, "If it ain't broke, don't replace it. If it is broke ... still don't replace it."

*seeth*

One of the offices I worked in had only one radio. With very bad transmission. It was stuck on some easy listening station that made Heart 102.6 sound like hardcore thrash metal.
Every other word in every single song was "baby".
*shudder*

There's nothing to wake you up in the morning like a fresh feeling of PSYCHOTIC HOMIDICAL RAGE washing over you.

My dad listens to 102.6.
Jono is retarded.
His music taste is retarded.
It's often very hard not to kick the fucking radio out to STOP TO NOISE.

I mean, how many times can one listen to "How Will I Live" before they want to just put a gun to someones head?
Answer: 1.

Aaaaah, nothing like a rant to get one's morning started, huh? ^_^

That wasn't ranting!

I was woked up by a highly irritating phone call and I've not been able to stop sneezing for at least 45 minutes.

Believe me, right now that was just downright fluffy.

*achoo*

*patpat* Poor you. Makes me grateful for what I've got (no consultants, no real work and the phone hasn't rung in two hours).

NoooOOOoooOOOooo!!

Ah yes...thank GOD.

Mostly I'm just sick of it being light out at half four in the morning.
IT'S STILL NIGHT AT THAT POINT!
Sunlight has NO PLACE there.

I favour option 3. But I'm feeling a little misanthropic this morning...

Shutguns are good, although these days you need a licence.
Might I recommend the humble crossbow (no licence required) :-p
