1 (Jo Lupo, Eureka), 4 (Parker, Leverage), 7 (Karrin Murphy, Dresden Files), and 9 (Toshiko Sato, Torchwood) are playing "Shag, Marry, Throw off a Cliff" with each other. What is each character's combination?

Parker, never one to pull punches, started the whole thing off. While it had technically been Tosh's idea, not even many, many cocktails could get her to possibly insult someone unless someone insulted her first. "Okay ... um ... I'll start easy, with the cliff thing. You. Definitely you."

Karrin Murphy met Parker's look with a wry twist of the mouth and the comment, "You'd try."

Tosh interjected with, "Oh, come on; she seems nice enough!"

"Sorry! But come on; she's the law. It's the principle!"

Jo swigged down the remains of her drink and pointed out, "She's not the only law enforcement officer in here, you know."

"Yeah, I know." Parker grinned easily, gave an amused snort and reached for the margarita pitcher. "But you'd be great for hate-sex, so shag."

Jo just raised an eyebrow, but Tosh squeaked, "That leaves you marrying me, then? Brave, leaving that as your ... I guess it's kind of like a dump stat in those role-playing things, isn't it?"

Parker leaned over and butted her shoulder against Tosh's, still grinning. "No, silly! I'd totally want to marry you anyway. You're smart and kinda geeky; I think I kinda like that."

Tosh blushed. "Well ... hopefully I won't insult you if I say that I'd pick you for shagging, rather than marrying."

"Yeah, I get that a lot."

"And for marriage ... Karrin over there." When Murphy gave Tosh a vaguely freaked out look, Tosh went on to say, "Well ... it's not just gentlemen who prefer blondes, and I like ... curves. There was this girl ... well, she was an alien, really, but female, more or less, and--"

Jo interrupted with, "I vote we don't need to hear about that. Let's skip to the part where I'm being thrown off the cliff. In terms of the marriage thing, you are my dump stat. And you're going off the cliff--" This with a nod to Parker, who raised her cocktail glass in a salute. "And Murphy of the Chicago PD would be my awful wedded wife."

"I should warn you that law enforcement types getting together never works out well. Ask my ex-husband." Murphy drained her drink and sighed. "I'd probably marry Tosh, since she seems the nurturing type and you need that after a day of doing my job. You ... you I'd at least experiment with. And that leaves Parker..." With a wicked grin, Murphy turned to Parker. "...Mostly, you're going off the cliff, Parker."

Parker smirked. "Like that bothers me. You never said I couldn't have a harness and zip line!"

Jo and Murphy exchanged glances and then shrugged, acknowledging defeat. Tosh just giggled at Parker's grin for awhile, and then fell over, which earned a chorus of "Lightweight..." from the other three.

The fact that I found this awesome in spite of only knowing one of the characters (Tosh) is testament to how it rocks like seventy cradles in a prevailing wind.
