This is what you missed.

Eventful day or so.
Firstly, went out to this new agency place to register and do typing tests and things. I kind of screwed up the Excel portion and my typing's a little rusty after a month but despite all that I really impressed people. Apparently, they want to snap me up before anyone else does, and I met with the New British Suit-Guy (you know the type if you live here; he wears really good suits with solid-colour ties, talks really fast and if he didn't have the accent you'd swear he was American) was talking about this senior secretarial position he would put me up for. Yay!
Then after a quick scoffage of lunch I went to meet the Padre (friend, Daria fan and Catholic priest, and you'd think that at least one of those would contradict the others but apparently not). We wandered Tate Modern for awhile, alternating between actual intellectual discussion of the installations and just doing the comedy tag lines for each piece. (This is rather unlike when I went with
ninja_arzt and
bluenote_bea, when we just made with the comedy.) Unfortunately, it wasn't as much fun as it could've been due to my wearing uncomfortable shoes; my feet are currently damn near flayed. So we stopped in a pub, where we had a drink and waxed theological for awhile, then braved public transport back to Enfield.
Padre and
cholten99 got on well, which I thought was nice ... particularly since, tired as I was, I didn't have to do much work in the conversation and could get away with cooking, serving and eating food in relative silence as those two gloried in the new audience they now had for their old stories. ^_^ Seriously, it was good that it all went so well, and I just got a text from Padre -- he got his train on time and all is cool.
Today, I've rung this fancy agency once already to give them details for my old agency. I have to ring again later to talk to New British Suit-Guy; find out where this interview he was babbling on the answerphone about is situated. After that, we're off to some cottage God-knows-where for (apparently) some R&R and country walks. Uh-huh -- with flayed feet. Well, I'm a dunce.
Scarier yet. On our way back (semi-via Colchester; it's Immortal night on Sunday), we're stopping by to visit his sister, brother-in-law and nephew. Muh! Meeting the family!
