I'm considering printing out a sign that reads "DO NOT ASK ME HOW I AM ON PAIN OF PAIN" and hanging it around my neck.

I mean, seriously, consider the situation:

Body-wise, I have the flu. On top of that, the migraine is back with a vengeance and my sinuses have swollen up on account of the weather (going to rain). The carpal tunnel is not getting better, no matter how much I delude myself. Essentially, my health is shot.

Then there's the mental and emotional. My muse has gone AWOL in a fit of temper. This is related to the fact that one of my creative projects has gone completely down the toilet.

And, still connected to the death of the creative thing, one of my best friends is now pissed off with me. This, apparently, boils down to the fact that we both have very, very, very different definitions of the phrase "I'm in"; mine tends towards "I want this to happen so I will help it to happen" while his seems more along the lines of "I will allow you to drag me into this but don't expect me to show the least amount of enthusiasm". So, because I had the audacity to request a little bit more than that, he's pissed off with me and I'm not even sure we're speaking at the moment and I'm trying to work out how this is my fault. Because, of course, it has to be my fault. He couldn't get pissed off with me without justification, right?

In the face of all this ... how the hell do you think I am?

I'm going to get through this day by the time-honoured method -- I'm going to work very very hard so I don't have to think.
