The Good Samaritan
Sep. 14th, 2007 04:04 amI am too damn nice.
I wanted to get to Black Mage level 36 tonight. And did, quite handily. However, there were three people in my party tonight who were just a ways behind me for levelling - by a few hundred points apiece. Now, given that I've been making good use of an Anniversary Band / Empress Band combo for upping my XP per mob killed, I've kind of assumed that 700 XP is not a problem to achieve in a mob or two. But these people weren't using any bands to speak of, so this was a bit of a crawl. However, it's just plain rude to disband when people are reasonably close to levelling, so I stayed. For about a half-hour longer than I intended.
Still, Deathgnome level 36. With a nice handy XP buffer in case of horrific accidents en route to wherever. Apparently, my next destination is Crawler's Nest. Oh, freakin' yay - big lumpy caterpillar / horned toad hybrids and giant freakin' scorpions. It's either that or the godsdamned Jungles again. Yippee. I suppose I should sound more thrilled - levelling can be fun. Just some of these places are plagued by abominable stupid. Of course, nowhere seems quite as bad as Qufim (I think the Dunes of Stupid have the mitigating circumstances of being filled with people who may or may not have just started the game, or at least the job they're levelling) but all the same, I think you can be a noob whatever level you're at. Take, for instance, the level 40-ish Summoner who hung around our camp with his party flag up (I assume he was waiting for a taker in either Western Altepa or the Quicksand Caves). Made life hell for our power leveller, and was intensely distracting. Oh well.
Right. Bed now.
