Travel Times

thessalianGot to game late. That was the first thing. I had the time wrong and my connections weren't great so I was a good 40 minutes late. Seems I save up all my "little bit early" moments to buy one massive chunk of "late" on the timekeeper's karmic scales.
Game was fun, as these things go. It was less Angel and more Location, Location, Location, but still a fair bit of fun. I got to set fire to a potential sniper's hair, but apart from that we didn't do much.
Then there was getting home. The game went on longer than expected and I figured the only course of action that would definitely get me home was to get to King's Cross by tube and then take the train to Enfield Chase. I figured the worst that would happen was that I only got the 1:06, which would at least get me home, if rather late in the evening. However, what actually happened was that I got to King's Cross to discover that the 1:06 train to Letchworth via Hertford North wasn't stopping between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage for some reason, and there would be replacement buses. Which was only going to add to the travel time, so I decided to find another option. My long-shot option at that point was to get the Piccadilly line to Oakwood and hope like anything that there was a really late bus. As it turned out, I arrived just in time to barely flag down a 307 that may well have been the last bus of the evening and get home. So all in all, it wasn't so bad, just altogether knackering.
And I suddenly realise that I will never ever have to do that shit again. Yippee. Too tired for true cheer, though. Gomen nasai.

angusabranson's massive sale thing. corone has my £5 and will give it to angusabranson the next time he's in Leisure Games, which should be this week sometime. He's more likely to be in there than I am, anyway...]
