I've been offline for a few days thanks to some nasty little virus, but I have returned. It's been a quiet little while, as it tends to be when I'm offline, but it's not like I've got quite that bored. Well, not really. Not properly. Y'know. *g* I mean, fine, my brain took all kinds of truly insane tangents and I'm halfway through some atrocious bit of filk-musical nonsense setting the Dwarf Noble origin of Dragon Age to the tunes of various Disney movies, but you all know what I'm like.

Today is becoming something of a clusterfuck. It started okay, what with half of my Amazon order arriving. Of course, the other half is languishing in a post office because the guy who does the early morning delivery can't be arsed to ring a damn doorbell, but I'll get up early and pick it up tomorrow. The other half arrived okay, though, because the afternoon post guy can ring a damn doorbell, so I now have all four of my box sets, one of my movies and two of my books.

...None of which I can really enjoy right now because some moron who came to visit one of my downstairs neighbours hit the fire alarm instead of the light switch. Dear gods, that thing is loud. I don't think they know how to make it stop, either. So this means that this loud, piercing siren shriek is filling every flat in the building, and it's going to trigger off the migraine from Hades, I can just tell. There's occasional respite as they do ... I don't even know what they're doing, to be honest ... and it cuts off for a second or so, and then it goes back to wailing. I can't hear anything over the infernal din, so there's no point in watching my new shows, and I sure as hell can't feature reading a book through this. I was going to go and make myself some salmon sashimi on rice as a very late lunch but now I'm thinking of just bugging out with one of my new books and going to get a burger or something because gods know I can't take it in here much longer. I don't know how long it's going to be before someone can make this stop.

At least my computer isn't virus-ridden anymore?
