Back Fence Ramblings
May. 8th, 2010 12:02 am- 00:24 So ... people started queuing at 8pm. Couldn't get in to vote before 10pm. And now can't vote at all. Not their fault. So ... WTF? #
- 10:22 Oooh, hung parliament. Does this mean we can have a do-over? Some people didn't get to vote 'cos of inepitude, after all... #
- 11:15 ...No, party leaders! Don't make decisions today! There hasn't been enough sleep and the election was a badly organised MESS! #
- 11:24 Also, while no one party can cross that FPTP line, NOT ALL THE VOTES ARE IN! Don't make decisions 'til all the votes are in! #
- 11:26 If I wasn't actually living in this country, this would be fascinating from a historical point of view. Still is, but also worrying. #
- 12:28 @jamesmoran With a hung parliament and talk of deals all over the place, are we going to get the country back anyway? #
- 14:40 @Asmenedas First Past the Post: The 'post', in our case, was 326 seats in Parliament - the majority. Whoever gets that, wins. #
- 14:40 @Asmenedas This does not mean proportional representation by any means, as our constituencies are skewed, population-wise. But there it is. #
- 15:25 May have to turn up to this one: bit.ly/Takeitback Traf Square, 2pm, Saturday. #
- 15:27 'Cos, to quote @SteveB_uk re: Oxford: LD 41000 votes, Cons 33600, Lab 28000. Approx 4:3:3. Number of MPs: LD 0, Cons 1, Lab 1. WTF? #
- 16:21 Aeryn Sun in A Country Practice ... eeeheeheeheehee... #
