Christmas Meme-Thing

Step One

- Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friends list (or friends' friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

(My list'll go up in a bit. Unfortunately, there's only about 1 person on my flist for whom I can actually manage this as yet, so I'm hoping a lot more people do this meme than have so far. It'd be nice to be able to get stuff for my friends despite currently being impoverished. *g*)

...Oh. Oh my gods. I just ... oh dear gods the pain.

I uncapped the Sidhe kith on JusNoctis awhile back. I explained that I would be looking at Sidhe applications very, very carefully. And the first one I got? Oh dear gods...

App 5. Seeming's Blessing (which ups his Appearance to 7). Slipped Seeming at 3. Surreal Quality. And Changeling's Eyes. All in one package. This guy violates the Right to Ignorance just by existing!

House? Scathach. One of the Lost Houses. Now, that kind of thing would fit into the campaign as it's going, but the background was a two-paragraph bit of ludicrousness that didn't even begin to cover what this guy was supposed to be or do. I don't need to know that the character's bisexual in the notes - I need to know who the fuck gave him a Treasure that lets him have Willow Whisper. I need to know how the hell he didn't get prodded and poked and fostered around as a freak of nature when it was discovered that he was of the House that everybody loathes. I need to know how the hated one wound up with a fucking holding. No, wait, I know that one - his father was a freakin' Hollow One. (Mage ties? Not unless you earn 'em in game, sunshine.) Gremayre 3 with no Fae Lore. Just ... dear fucking gods, no.

I'm keeping the character sheet for this one as a PDF, just because it is the most painful bit of twinkery I have ever seen in my entire life. And now I'm going to have to edit the character creation guidelines again to make a note that having more than one Attribute above four is heavily frowned upon without a damn good reason. I mean, there were three of them! Dex, Charisma and Perception! Just ... gyah.

[Edit: No, actually, I've already said that in the character creation guidelines. How the hell big does the font have to be to make people pay some fucking attention?!?]
