I finally started reading Megatokyo again - not sure why. One of those things I did to deal with a bout of insomnia, I suppose. Much like this quiz, then, really - I only did it 'cos I can't sleep. Again.

Starlight, Star Bright

So it's Christmas, and in Vana'diel where the deathgnomes roam, this means the Starlight Festival. This, apparently, means that a Treant will be roaming Windurst, and possibly the other starter cities too. It also means 886 files worth of update now that the servers are back up. This will take approximately half an hour to download, so it'd better damn well be worth it. Then again, a part of the reason I like this game is that one of the endgames is Dynamis-Windurst, a scenario where you actually pay gil to go into an alternate version of the city of your choice where the mobs are in charge. It's very high level, but I just have this yen to see goblins stomping around Windy. It seems more true to life, as the NPC guards are shit. Besides, I have an itch to hit level 75 BLM, form an alliance with the rest of my LS and hand the Dynamis Lord his arse. It'll be a long time coming, but it should be worth it.

In the meantime, I went out for a drink with dodgyhoodoo and weaselbitch. Now, on the one hand, these outings always remind me why I haven't been going on them lately - two hours and I was completely fucking exhausted, just from sitting in a pub and talking. On the other hand, these outings always remind me why I enjoy them. Today, of course, it was mainly sitting around coaching weaselbitch in various FFXI ins and outs. You know - where to go for gil-earning quests, how to get Signet cast, offering her use of a bronze sword that I don't even remember how I got, that kind of thing. It's kind of part of the present, if you like, all the coaching. Plus it means I spend more time with weaselbitch - always a bonus.
