In the Money
Nov. 23rd, 2006 03:36 am...I have money! Yay! Actually paid as normal! Can go Christmas shopping! Can contribute to household expenses! Do not have to take too many jobs if I don't feel up to it! Thank goodness. I just wish Michael had told me about it rather than letting me find out by checking my bank details online at half-three or so in the damn morning because I'm stressed and can't sleep.
It's all a bit of a bonus, really. Anything I make temping can be dumped into the savings account against some sort of unemployment disaster after January. I mean, how many times now have I been stuck in a position where I didn't have anything to fall back on and spent months unemployed with no money coming in? The burden that puts on the SO in the equation is bad enough, but it's humiliating. I never did like being dependent.
Anyway, now I can relax a little, unlike the last week where I've been metaphorically gnawing at my knuckles about whether or not I was going to have any cash at all for Christmas shopping and household expenses and how I was going to tell my mother how badly I got screwed. At least now the screwing isn't so bad and I'm not going to be utterly broke.
So ... w00t.
Oh, yeah, and I just spent the last hour and a half reading Megatokyo. Much like Penny Arcade, it's one that people keep talking about and yet I gave up on it about two years ago because of the dicky update schedule. Oh well. I'll give it another go, now that I've invested the time.
