The Good Samaritan

( I've become one of those people. No, the other 'those people'. )

I'm still up because I can't sleep. I can't sleep because I feel particularly miserable tonight. (Also because dodgyhoodoo is snoring, but that's not the main reason.) I've been doing the FFXI thing mainly to keep my mind off it, though dinner in front of "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" did help. And the migraine meds have made a significant dent in the head pain, though of course they did nothing for the general nausea and malaise. It can't be a stress-related queasy, I've pretty much decided, because given that things are sorted with the boss for another couple of weeks, I'm actually less stressed than I was awhile ago, and feeling worse. Oh well. I've got tomorrow to chill out and such before Sunday's return to Restart, at least. And if I don't feel better, we'll just have to have a shorter session than the ones in the old days ... which would be the case anyway, as I think dodgyhoodoo's on earlies and besides, Torchwood is on.

Oh, yeah, we got a digibox. We need a new SCART lead and some kind of adaptor to give the TV more SCART connection points (we have the DVD player, the Xbox and the PS2 kind of hogging the three SCART hook-ups on the TV, y'see), but we do at least have a digibox. So all those nifty free digital channels are now ours. Yay! There might actually be a point to watching TV again. Though admittedly the only real rush to get the digibox now was knowing that Torchwood might not show on BBC2 beyond the premiere double-bill and is generally showing on BBC3, a digital station. Now, it might not be worth watching - after Tennant!Who and dodgyhoodoo's reaction to that new Robin Hood series, disappointment isn't exactly going to be a shock for me - but if it is, we don't want to miss it. Anyway, I think FilmFour is freeview now, so at least the digibox is still a good investment.

Levelling the Land, Revisited

WHM is now up to lvl 9. Which means I can make use of my new spell, Paralyza. No more paralysis for me when dealing with Rock Lizards, thank you. I was trying to get up this one stupid hill for this one quest but could I find the entrance? Could I buggery. Stupid thing. And of course signet ran out halfway through so I couldn't get conquest points for all the lovely goblins that aggroed me and then regretted it as I proceeded to kick the living shit out of them. My fame in Bastok is still negligible, though I have done a couple of quests (and got a really funky hat).

I thought about doing this stupid event stuff, but it turns out that because of the event, all the prices on sweets have gone through the damn roof. I'm currently saving for some very expensive armour and haven't got the money to blow on ginger cookies and such, so forget that. Plus I need to buy some Slime Oil for that Warp spell. Still, at least some of the fame quests are getting me some gil, so that's okay.

Now it's my turn to do dinner. Huzzah. dodgyhoodoo defaulted to steak as dinner choice for the evening, which is good because I rather fancied that anyway. So I'd better get started. I still feel awful, but I'm determined to get some good food in me at least.
