Having a Life
Oct. 14th, 2006 05:05 pmWell, so much for getting anything interesting done today - I have just crawled out of bed, y'see. Well, I was inexplicably knackered and not much in the mood to do anything but sleep. I hate being ill. I still figure on going out for a bit later - as in, in the next hour or so - but probably not going to do much. Still, nice coffee that I didn't have to make would be nice.
...Dude! The launch party for NaNo's at the Round Table this year! How very convenient; it's a pub I know and everything. Fine, the upstairs room at that particular pub is non-smoking entirely, but I'm sure there are enough smokers in the London NaNo contingent who'll join me downstairs for a smoke if I get the nic-fits. Plus there's always grabbing a smoke when I'm at the bar. I just hope I'm not feeling too dragged out to at least make an appearance. I do like the NaNo launch parties - you meet the most interesting people at those things. For example,
neonchameleon was a guy I met and talked gaming with at my first NaNo launch party.
I suppose, while I am still completely bummed about missing my US trip for oh-so-many reasons, I can at least look at the few bright sides on the matter. Being able to watch Saw 3 with
dodgyhoodoo when it comes out. The NaNo launch party. Stuff like that. I think I'll focus on that rather than focusing on missing Halloween with
ilyena_sylph and
darkdanc3r, just so I don't get too depressed.
Right. Now I go out and do something. Likely not for very long, but I will go out and do something. Then I will come home and contemplate what to do with myself now that
dodgyhoodoo is off visiting his mother. More than likely I'll just park myself in front of the telly with Battle Royale or Perfect Blue or something - one of those ones I haven't watched in awhile and would like to see again. Pretty tame and standard stuff, but that's to be expected, I suppose. It's not like I have the energy or money to go clubbing or whatever.
