I Should Be So Lucky
Mar. 29th, 2006 10:07 amToday has been a cavalcade of bad luck so far.
Left foot so badly bruised or otherwise generally sore that it was agony to put my boot on. Got to Finchley Central and realised that the zip on my left boot was broken. Tried to fix it at the Tube station, only to break it further. Then signal failure at Woodside Park meant that the trains were few and far between and I wound up standing on the platform for ten minutes waiting. Didn't have time to pick up breakfast. Got into the office to be told that Lady Competence's email will be broken for a week. I have discovered that I forgot to put on my engagement ring this morning, so now my hand feels weird without it. And I have time-of-month cramps like whoa. And yet, today is the day that my brain is screaming at me to buy a lottery ticket. It's been doing that since yesterday afternoon. What, is some part of me pouring all my good luck into that one purchase? I really do not get my brain sometimes.
We skipped out on drinks with Mum last night; personal reasons. (As I put it to
dodgyhoodoo, "I make it a policy not to meet up with my mother when I am in a monumental arse".) Instead, I went and bought my iTunes card, he went to Neal's Yard and discovered that apparently they only stock bath and shower gel base when I am in the shop, and then we met up for a drink and cheap n' cheerful Japanese food at Tokyo Diner. Then went home, bought a month's worth of access to the premium downloads on Sims Connection, my Rob Zombie album, one of the newer Static-X albums, the latest Gary Numan album and a Korn track I don't own already, and then started build on the Sims 2 version of the Dockside Palace. I got as far as outer and inner walls, balconies, stairs and lifts, as well as covering the outside walls. Tonight will be wall and floor coverings for the interior, window and door placement (because now all it has is the entry/exit door) and possibly furnishing. I put too much effort into this stuff, I'm telling you.
Today's commute read was the Ananasi sourcebook. There's some fun stuff in there. I also brought Bastet and Corax with me. Whee. I don't know if this is the most comprehensive oWoD crossover imaginable, or even the best, but at least we're all having fun. We are all having fun, right?
And. Still. SQUAT. From Hollow City. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
