Bah. I keep trying to earn that 1% increase in pace and it's just ... not ... happening. Then again, it's nearly 3 a.m. and I've been on short sleep rations lately, so I'm not entirely sure who I'm trying to kid here. I should pick this up again in the morning ... actually, hopefully the afternoon ... after a long lie-in and some further thought on plot. It shouldn't be too hard to make up the shortfall tomorrow, when I've got more time to actually sit and write the damn thing. One of the MCs has a lot of explaining to do, and she's one of the wordier ones, so that should help.

I don't believe I'm complaining about having cleared nearly 2.5k words in the last couple of hours. I should maybe stop pushing the upper limit of my endurance, at least long enough to get some sleep.

[Okay, now I sleep.]

I could get some work done on the NaNo right now, but I'm beginning to realise that my best writing times are completely unsociable hours of the morning. Besides, my wrists are starting to hurt (hey, at the rate I've been going, the fact that they're only a little bit sore now is actually a good thing; a year or so ago, I wouldn't have got this far) so I think I'll leave it for awhile. Instead, I'm going back to the Sims 2. I spent some of last night picking up some great meshes and will faff about online looking for more, then go build lots and stuff. Probably build my NaNo MCs too. Then a little more play time with my Legacy Family and see if [livejournal.com profile] dodgyhoodoo wants to watch Saw at some point.

After all, one cannot live on NaNo alone.

Yes, one can!

Shut up, Thren.

Just watched Saw.

BEST. HORROR. MOVIE. VILLAIN. EVER.

Holy bloody (no pun intended) shit that was headfucky. Though I saw a looooooot of nods to Silent Hill in there, not least of which was the toilet thing. Apparently Leigh Wannell, the guy who played Adam, helped James Wan write the story and out-and-out wrote the screenplay. The man can act and write. Leigh Wannell is like unto a tiny god. As for Cary Elwes ... the extra weight suits him, and he can act too. Just ... wow. I hope the sequel lives up to that.

Anyway, now I'm going to finish up this entry, go watch Audition, have a shower and then write like a maniac for a few hours.

Life is good.
