Saving neighbourhoods did not work. Crashed the game utterly. I am going to have to reinstall everything and start yet again from scratch.

Worst part? I didn't think the unistall of Sims 2 Uni removed your EA games folder from the My Documents folder. Thankfully, most of my downloads are backed up on CDs, but I think I may have lost a lot of pretty doomboot-related downloads.

Hello, Mod the Sims 2...

[Edit: 2:15 a.m. I think I got all the important stuff, plus a few other things I didn't even know were there. All to the good, say I, though I'm sure I'm missing some stuff I really liked, plus the new downloads off Sims 2 Resource I picked up today. Oh well. It's the start of the cycle so if I really feel the lack, I can just go download them again, I guess. The worst part about this is that the Frankenbox takes offence to the amount it's being asked to copy off CD (two and a half CDs worth of downloads, all laboriously collected and much loved) so every so often, everything else just crashes. Like the Frankenbox is telling me, "I'm cobbled together out of other bits of people's computers! SPARE ME!" or something. I love anthropomorphising machines ... unless they're yelling at me. The third disc should be easier because there's less on it, but all I can do is hope that the damn game works when I try running it again. Well, at least there's this much to be said for insomnia -- I'm not losing any sleep over this because I wouldn't be getting any anyway.]

Moo Hoo Ha Ha

So on the down side, I've lost my entire Sims 2 Llandeilo. Every last thing (except for the screencaps. Thankfully, I at least managed to save those). Not to mention most of my beach downloads, so I can't even recreate Echo Beach. Fuck shit bollocks.

On the other hand...

I've been hunting around Mod the Sims 2 for the creepiest, goriest and trashiest walls and objects I can find. Now I've got morgue freezers, metal grille floors, rusted metal floors and walls, various walls and floors covered with bloodstains, peeling and stained wallpaper, rotted and warped floorboards, an entire household furniture set stained in blood, dungeon chains for the walls, piles of rotting ... formerly living thing, and a Pyramid Head mesh.

Screw pretty Llandeilo. I'm building 'the Other Llandeilo'. Creepy, bog-off Silent Hill edition. I've already built Skank and Molly in a one-floor abbatoir without most of the stuff listed above. Next is the Marwood family (Lucius, Susanna, Romulus and little Amanda -- long story involving the shagging between 'Said' and 'Lotus' when said former incarnations were permitted a return to the forefront of Lucius and Susanna's mind/soul/whatever for an evening as a thank you for the whole Markadu thing), and I'm going to build something big and impressive and utterly, utterly creepy for them. After that, I move on to the others. Shame I don't have a hole wallpaper. I was thinking of having Kuo-Li in "The Room".

So randomflashbang has demanded screencaps of my Silent Hill Llandeilo sets. I don't normally respond well to demands, but what the hell.

The screencaps aren't great, but they were about the best I could do on the dark n' dingy front. weaselbitch and nadriel will be able to see it properly on Sunday, should they so desire. By then, I'll probably have completed my other projects -- I'm going to make up a couple of Silent Hill community lots -- the grocery store from Silent Hill 1, Heaven's Night from Silent Hill 2, and the shopping mall from Silent Hill 3 are the current items. Open to suggestions, as I can't think of any more. (Though I think I could probably gather together the meshes to make a Prison World from SH4...)

Remember, please, that I didn't actually make any of the meshes, walls, floors, objects and what have you that are seen in those pictures. Credit for those goes out to too many people to name. All I did was put them together in funky ways.
