Interesting
Jul. 27th, 2005 08:34 amSo my CV is now two-and-a-bit pages long, where once it took up a nice even two pages of space. I suppose it does look better, and it's nice to know that I don't have to put down all the poxy jobs I did in my very early 20s anymore.
Some people put their interests on a CV, so I might consider doing that. Still, I'm always wary about that, particularly over the past couple of years. When I explain it to their faces, most people I talk to are actually kind of impressed by the whole RPG thing, but you can't explain exactly what a role-playing game is in a few lines. Well, not without sounding like a total freak of nature, anyway. Normally I don't care so much about that, but I'd like to be employed, thanks. It's a shame, though -- that kind of effort expended on one's own time has got to be relatively impressive to any employer, particularly given the fact that I've actually made one. And of course, there's trying to explain fan fiction. I generally leave it as "creative writing"; sounds so much better.
So: Reading, creative writing, music, cinema, theatre, animation, visual art, aromatherapy... I sound like such an artsy-geek. Well, I suppose that's about right, really. Could be worse.
