Job Search
May. 18th, 2005 01:10 pmNo go on the week-long typing stint. Apparently they did a reshuffle and filled the gap within their own staff. Which is good for them, I suppose, seeing how expensive temps are, but not so good for me. Still applying for anything that looks remotely suitable, only now I've learned that it's best to not bother with the banking/accountancy shit because they'll never take me anyway. Plus there's the reply mails I've been getting lately -- "You're overqualified; we'll see what else we can find for you".
I'm skilled, eminently qualified and generally a good bet, secretarial-wise. So why does no one want to hire me? Please tell me you can't be too good to get a job. *sigh*
I think the headache's getting better, or at least the ibuprofen's working. Either way, not taking any chances; I've done my wodge of applications for the day and am going back to read Preacher and try not to dwell on the whole no-job thing. How is it that people are so excited about my skill set when they meet me at agency interviews and that, and then seem to find me so little in the way of actual work?
