...and there it goes

Well, Mystery Pudding -- actually chocolate cake with coffee frosting -- turned out quite well, all things considered. dodgyhoodoo cooked very nice venison despite the kitchen problems and we watched Shrek 2 all the way through. It's amazing; I've forgotten that there are people with whom you can just sit down and watch things without getting into an overly long conversation about it all. I got embarrassingly drunk and am now embarrassingly hung over, but I suppose it doesn't happen very often so I'll try not to feel too bad about it. Wound up crashing at Sourcebook Central overnight and got about four hours' sleep. I will sleep well this evening, after I've showered and unmatted my hair.

Today, corone and weaselbitch came 'round and we watched the first three eps of Firefly. It really is good stuff but again, it's so nice to be able to watch things with people and not have them turn the odd sarky comment into a ten-minute discussion. I'm about to go watch "Shindig", the ep that corone says is the one that hooks people, but I really do like it. Part of the reason for procrastinating, I think, was that the build-up was too much and it was bound to be disappointing if I watched it right then. Now I have perspective and I don't feel pressured into "Oh, it's good". It just is.

So I'm gonna go watch that now. To bed very early tonight. Hope dodgyhoodoo feels better tomorrow; he sounded miserable when we left this afternoon. Hope the eucalyptus helps. Now I need to keep Yuki (who corone calls "the tart") out of my bin, so excuse me. And happy Boxing Day.
