Sick Day 4

Still home. Still feeling nauseous and tired for no damn reason. Have rung work stating that they do not need to book a temp for next week -- if I'm not well by Monday, there will be hellfire. Provided, of course, that I have the energy for hellfire.

The cat is perennially on crack. She's been dashing around like an utter maniac for the last hour, driving me completely insane. I can't think of anything to do about this bar tying her to something immovable. Kitty needs to lay off the crack.

I am currently suffering from passport location anxiety. I know it's in here somewhere. I just can't find it. I could just clean my room for a change, but that would involve effort I'm not prepared to make. And it's not like I'm planning to leave the country anytime soon.

In other news, my Skank-based Sim got married to pink-clad business tycoon named Marisa. They are currently expecting a child. That should be interesting, not to mention supreme incentive for Molly to move out as soon as she gets into adulthood. Molly, meanwhile, managed to electrocute herself while fixing the home computer. Not dead, just ... well, kind of fried.

Now. I can either make some tidiness headway, or I can go play Sims 2. Guess which one I'm going to pick.

So I sat down and wrote up a couple of alternate 7th Sea characters. Because, you know, not only is it a good thing to have alternates on the off chance that your character does something stupid and dies, but there's the small fact that Alison is looking incredibly likely to do something deliberately stupid in the hopes that she will. This would never have happened if Toos had given Reinhard enough common sense to refrain from mentioning Pietro's fucking suicide note. I guess she was right about "different kind of arsehole". I've been thinking about this and Alison would still be playable if Pietro/Reinhard had just left that one element out.

So here's who I've got:

Ramona Mendoza: Technically a minor Castillian noble, she fled when the conquering Montaigne tried to make her marry a Musketeer. She changed her name, fled to Altamira and spent what was supposed to be her dowry on a very good sword and training in same. Her goal in life is to best her master in single combat someday.

Kiara Quigley: Sidhe-blooded Inish criminal. Pickpocket, prestidigitator, mistress of disguise, pugilist and axewielder. She's currently on the hunt for the famous swordsman who killed her father; she intends to make him pay. (That came out of the Destiny Spread; nothing to do with me.)

Problem? I don't want to play either of them. Oh, sure, they're good characters, but neither of them necessarily fit the campaign. I might be able to squeeze Ramona into the Vendel campaign but I doubt it, and she sure as hell wouldn't be able to keep her cool in Montaigne. As for Kiara, she's a peasant. I mean, so's Alison (sort of), but that's different. It's so much easier when you're actually integrated into the party.

Bah. Toos is going to have to fix this.
