It's ten past eight on Wednesday morning. Which means it's actually the day I'm supposed to fly home. I had a fairly good sleep last night -- but then, given how tired I was after the sleepless red-eye from SB to SF, I think I could have slept well anywhere. I've also had a much-needed shower and am just about to go find some breakfast.

After that, check-out, lunch, SFO, and I'm blowin' this popsicle stand!

Andy P's found an adequate excuse for Alison's inability to participate in normal group insanity which will hold for another session. Now, if someone could just beat Pietro over the head a few times if he starts being a real sleaze around Richard I'll be happy. And Exalted on Sunday. Yay!

It's been ... well, fun is in there but it nowhere near covers the waterfront ... but it's past time. Home will be a good place to be. Which is funny because I never really had a situation where I was really desperate to go back home before. Home's always been the place you have to go back to, and now I want to. [livejournal.com profile] happypickle says that's probably good, and I have to agree.

Actually, what I have to do is go have coffee.

I have time to kill, and I'm bored, so:

Things I'm going to miss about California

* Close proximity to [livejournal.com profile] nightskywarlock, [livejournal.com profile] happypickle, [livejournal.com profile] beepbeep, [livejournal.com profile] dburr and the rest of the crazies I associate with on the left coast.
* Predictable weather and the beautiful shade of blue the sky achieves over here.
* Buses with transfers that last for hours.
* Easy access to good Japanese food, anime and manga (damn them for not getting decent anime into R2 format).
* Shops that stay open late.
* The hostel, for its many, many interesting residents that add to my Lego-like box of character bits (some assembly always required, but saves me from having to base characters directly on people).

Things I will not miss about California
* The goddamn heat.
* Grocery stores (so much selection of things no sane person would want).
* The hills.
* The high population of crazy homeless people.
* Machines that talk to you.
* Never having a lick of privacy.
* Being forced to reduce the weight of my carry-on luggage to the point where most of my good thick books had to be donated to the hostel and replaced with a pair of Robert Ludlum novels.

There's still so much time to kill before check-out (not that I want to check out spot on eleven, when everyone else is going to be). I wish I could skip the plane flight and just be home. Waaaaaah.
