The Continuing Story of a Medical Secretary Who's Gone to the Dogs

I swear, this place has turned into a "Veterinarian's Hospital" sketch from the Muppet Show.

This morning, I came in to be informed that they were testing the generators. Which apparently involved our power being cut every few minutes. I knew we were kept in the dark about a lot of things around here, but I didn't think it meant literally. The whole thing meant we had to reboot our computers and usually lose a document every time we had the cut. It was hospital-wide (except, I assume, ITU ward, where they really can't afford to have blackouts because of all those ventilators...) and, thank you, fuck-annoying.

When that was finally over, the regular Thursday fire alarm testing kicked in. The noise...

That's done, but now there's a new sonic horror (and I'm not just talking about the fact that Cheryl's turned the radio back to Capital FM) -- Thursday means Paeds screenings. Which also means screaming kiddies. And I already had a headache before I got here.

C'mon, nightskywarlock. All it needs are a few exquisitely bad puns and this morning's resemblance to the Muppet Show sketch will be complete. Wonder if that makes me Janice or Miss Piggy...
