Only Human?
Jan. 25th, 2003 05:08 pmIsn't it incredible how easy it is to hurt someone who cares about you? It takes next to no effort. If your opinion matters to them -- if you matter to them, it takes so little to hurt them.
I would have thought that, if you cared about that person in return, you'd make a decided effort not to hurt that person. After all, you know them well enough to know what to do and what not to do. It's what I try to do, when I'm not going depressively insane or (I think) justifiably pissed off. Why doesn't everyone do that?
Because, according to my parental units, human nature's like that.
Well, fuck human nature.
I think I'll do this when I'm not feeling like I'd rather not be of this planet.
