Nov. 15th, 2002 08:32 pmI got out of work and decided to treat myself. I decided to go see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. There's a cinema about a block from where I work. I paid £8.10 to see it, but thought it's not as bad as paying £11 in the West End. Walked in, sat down, bore the noise of schoolchildren and the Godforsaken ads, and it began.
About an hour and a half in, I walked out. I just couldn't take it anymore. It should have been called Harry Potter and the Fact that Everything Hollywood Touches Turns to Crap.
( For those of you who still want to see this monstrosity, spoiler-free zone )
Not much is new. I'm in the X-ray department for another week (the very idea of me leaving threw the other staff into a panic -- I think they like me, or at least my typing speed). And I made a friend. She likes books almost as much as I do and I'm doing an aromatherapy mix for her on Monday. No, don't get any wiseguy ideas, people -- she's happily married ... well, married anyway. Which is a pity, I'll admit, cos she's cute. ANYWAY.
I should probably get dinner, but I'm not sure I'd keep it down. That whole thing made me sick.
