Now, that's more like it.

[livejournal.com profile] leopard_lady rang last night, we arranged lunch and it was good (Indian buffet; probably overpriced, but the food was good so what the hell). Then went shopping. I think the King's Road nearly reduced the poor girl to tears -- all those clothes stores with everything so costly. But she did enough damage to her credit card in Waterstone's anyway -- the Harry Potter box set to avoid all those pesky Americanisations, two of the Princess Diary books for the coolness of different titles, a copy of Matilda as a belated birthday present to me and a pre-order of 'Order of the Phoenix'. Yeah, she got a funny look when she asked it to be shipped to the US and got into a conversation about American v. British words et al.

After that and a quick turn 'round the Japancentre (I got Pocky! They were having a sale!) I took her to the Intrepid Fox. Everyone I've taken there has liked it but she's the first to have actually salivated. She said that [livejournal.com profile] ethangilchrist would set up on a stool at the far corner of the bar and never leave and between him, Taichou and [livejournal.com profile] dieselmachine, I think a few of our mutual friends would probably be just as charmed by the place as she was. Though she was a little disappointed by the Nickelback poster.

Then I took her to my comic hole, where she bitched me out for making her spend more money. But what the hell. She had a good time and so did I.

And tonight ... Full Tilt. She does have to see what that's like.
