The DVD-to-PSP project has been ... problematic.
First thing I discovered was that playing DVDs directly off the drive? Didn't work so well. What would play at all was dicky, and I couldn't rip anything owing to copy protection. (C'mon, guys; I bought the damn DVDs and should be able to watch them on whatever I like...) So then the fantastic![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
happypickle pointed me in the direction of a decrypter programme, and all was somewhat improved. I could, at least, rip the DVDs to my computer. However, that's only the first step (though I can screencap now woo yay!).
Now I need to get the fucking things to my PSP, which is proving more and more problematic. The bit of software I actually paid for won't work with whatever format the decrypter is ripping things to. The Japanese freeware produces corrupted files that won't read. And the most recent bit of software only works in five minute increments and I'm still not even sure if it works or not because everything I've tried so far hasn't worked. I've got more downloaded software than is feasible but nothing seems to work. And while having the DVDs to watch on my computer is fine, I want to be able to actually watch things on my PSP, which was the whole ... fucking ... point.
If push comes to shove, I can watch stuff on iMisc. But I'm going to get something watchable on my PSP if it kills me.
Anyway. The other thing I didn't mention in yesterday's post was the first purchase of the day - a copy of the Forsaken supplement Predators. Torture fodder, tee hee! So that, along with the attempts to get something done with this fucking PSP and possibly some Sims, is what I'm going to do with my Saturday. Huzzah.

And vlc can play the dvd too, and lots of other media files at that. A good program to have the latest version of when you download something ya can't play with anything else...
