I think I quite like that.

We watched Saw II. It wasn't quite as good as the original (but then, these things never are), but it was still pretty damn good, and a damn sight above par for most shlock horror. Still had the "Silent Hill on waaaaaaay too much crack" vibe, changed group dynamic worked well, twist ending (which I accidentally spoiled myself on, but never mind) was pretty twisty and ... brrr. Even the stuff I saw coming got that "Oooooooh" revelation reaction, which is the mark of a good fucking film, IMHO. Of course, there'll probably be another sequel, but as long as they keep changing the dynamic so successfully while keeping true to the spirit of the series and Leigh Whannell keeps writing a fucking excellent script, I think it'll hold up well.

Now I go to sleep with images from both films trapped in my head. This will be fine when I can let them out on paper. And by 'paper', I mean either word processor or Mage characters. I'm not picky.
