Back Fence Ramblings

  • 00:10 Abney Park covering Billy Idol ... and Radiohead. OMG awesome. #
  • 22:10 Guy from flat across the way: "That's somefink I never done, readin' books." He sounded so proud... #
  • 22:11 And what do you say to that, anyway? My options were to nod politely and smile, or speak my mind and say, "Yeah, I can tell". #
  • 22:12 (I picked the former option. One does not antagonise the yobbos.) #
  • 22:14 @roentgenatrix More yob than chav, though he did admit to watching 'The X-Factor'. Aheheheheh... #
  • 22:32 @Asmenedas ...Um. Not exactly. Think 'thug'. I don't know why 'yob' or 'yobbo' (pronounced YOH-boh), but ... there it is. #
  • 23:07 Watching Nick Griffin on BBC Question Time. So 'many people in Britain find two grown men kissing really creepy'? Bwah? #

Yob originated from backslang, referring to working class adolescent males. I don't know how we ended up with yobbo though.
