Rules:

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick four of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee.

Ah, from the Pratchett-quote icons I tripped over a month or so ago. I love the Lancre witches; they are made of awesome. Everyone has days when they basically figure, "Bugger all that; let's curse somebody". This icon is for those days.

I found this on [livejournal.com profile] bad_rpers_suck or someplace one day and had to have it. Because sometimes, the ST-related venting just isn't enough, and the icon has to say it as much as the text does. And as [livejournal.com profile] cholten99 and [livejournal.com profile] dodgyhoodoo both know, being my boyfriend/fiance does not mean that I will go any easier on you. In fact, it will probably make me be harder on you because you should know better.

I love Preacher. A friend of mine has a whole bunch of Preacher-quote icons, some of which I must gank. This one, however, just looks funky as well. The Saint of Killers is a generally awesome character, and suited for an icon of utter defiance.

Oh, one of my own creations made the list! See, awhile back, [livejournal.com profile] dodgyhoodoo was running a Fading Suns game and I wanted an icon to use when doing the write-ups. I was playing the Duchess Solita Li Halan, only daughter of the head of the Li Halan family (so many Freebies went into ensuring that [livejournal.com profile] dodgyhoodoo could most righteously screw me to the wall...) and her general appearance I figured about matched Liv Tyler. And so I went a-hunting and found that picture, then made yon icon. Unfortunately, the Fading Suns game only lasted a few sessions, but the icon remains because I thought it was pretty.

And [livejournal.com profile] redstapler's picks:

I do not remember where I found this, though I know I credited. All I know is that watching the cast of the 'Silent Hill' movie boogieing around cheerfully in front of the green screen when you just know that in about ten minutes, they're going to be cowering and screaming their heads off ... it's win.

Ah, yes. See, I got sorted to [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_elite a little over a year ago, and they named me Hufflepuff. In the course of events, I've seen a lot of sortings, and it's rare that anyone actually gets the point of the house (just, loyal, hardworking, not "nice pushover doormats" - does anyone actually have any idea of what the not-so-humble badger is like? Those little buggers will rip your face off if you piss them off). And so I found this icon and thought that it would be appropriate. And it's true. So there. *g*

I am such a Muppet fan it isn't funny. I really want a good one of Beaker, but Animal has always been one of my favourites (particularly after a particular Daria/Muppet crossover fic - "WO-MAN! WO-MAN! *eyebrow waggle* BRAINY WO-MAN!" Heeheehee...) So ... you know, glee for Animal icons.

Ah, Transmetropolitan, how I love thee. Seriously, I've been through temp agencies and I've seen other temps work ... or rather, not-work ... and I one day really just want to see one of them ditch the marketing-speak and just come out and say that. Because they treat us like total fucktards and most of us respond in kind. Bleh.

And now for [livejournal.com profile] draxar's pics:

Quote by Herodotus, pic is Chiisa from Serial Experiments: Lain. The pic was used because there are resemblances to how I look in RL (brown hair, glasses) and I like the quote because it's basically true - life has its ups and downs so you really can't say that anyone's lived a happy life until they've died and you tally up the ups and downs or something, I suppose - sort of a 'where there's life, there's hope' thing. Then there's the fandom angle - this character wasn't really happy until she was shot of the whole physical body and existed solely in the Wired. Hence the quote.

That's a bit of art from the RPG I wrote a few years ago, drawn by the inestimable [livejournal.com profile] weaselbitch based on a Sim I did of the appropriate game NPC. It's as close to a self-Sim as I had at the time, so I used it. Plus people need to see more of [livejournal.com profile] weaselbitch's art, just on principle.

That particular Doctor Who quote needed to be on an icon, as did a picture of John Barrowman and Christopher Eccleston kissing. And since at least one of those two isn't human, it fit quite well, I think. I really need to improve on that icon, but the gist is there.

I am a raving Silent Hill fan, though I have never actually played the game (I like to watch [livejournal.com profile] dodgyhoodoo play it, though - one of my favourite memories is watching him play Silent Hill 2 until about 4am and making chainsaw noises whenever he got bored and let James stand around until he started hoisting the chainsaw weapon you get after a decent ending in a replay over his head in a "HULK SMASH!" kind of way). And Pyramid Head rocks. And sometimes, you just need an icon that screams 'cruel and unusual punishment purgatory'. Silent Hill more than qualifies.

And again, I am a massive Silent Hill fan, and the films were awesome. I loved that screenshot and wanted to do something icon-related with it, so it was all a matter of finding the appropriate text. And given what follows, that particular Depeche Mode quote fits. One of the icons I'm proudest of, actually - the text came out nice and clear and it just looks suitably creepy.

Nice!

OK then - hit me up, I have a spare couple minutes ;)

Yay [livejournal.com profile] doccy! You are missed (and not just for your l33t ST skillz)!

*ahem* Anyway. Icons.

(Mostly, given one of the Oliver Platt character's compatriots in 'Flatliners', isn't there a lot of irony here?)
