Blasts from the Past
A few noteworthy items:
1) Yesterday, when I went to work, I noted that one of my bossly types had received an email from an old, old boss of mine. Some of you will remember the job I had before I took that US trip in 2000-2001? Well, her. It's kind of a shame it was only cc'd to my boss or else I could have sent an acknowledgment email. I think her mind needs to be blown as much as mine was, seeing that name on the end of an email again after six and a half years.
2) I'd forgotten how much I like Grosse Point Blank. And John Cusack. I suddenly have this itch to own Say Anything, which disturbs me mightily but never mind. I own Flashdance, Footloose, and Pretty in Pink; if I'm going to be a fan of 80s cheese, I may as well go all the way, right?
3) I need to explain to someone on JusNoctis the full meaning of the internet RP phrase "ICA=ICC". Which, incidentally, is short for "in-character action = in-character consequences". If you slander your mentor, however unwittingly, your mentor is going to be upset when she finds out. END OF STATEMENT. Do not expect instant forgiveness when you've dismissed actions that a) the mentor's still torn about having committed anyway, b) were at least partly down to your suggestions and actions anyway and c) are liable to piss off the people you're now telling about said actions as 'pent-up aggression' and 'that time of the month'. Oh, yes, trauma at having watched yourself hang, and remembering how it felt to do so. Surely that only means that you're not going to forget a single detail of how the thing that forced you to do that got destroyed... Anyway, suck it up and take the in-character consequences. Do not try to metagame for instant forgiveness. IT DOES NOT WORK. And, more to the point, if you're in a bad mood and you can't keep it OOC? Don't play.
