The auction house in Windurst is engaging in a bit of price gouging today. Look, I understand ice, light and dark crystals being scarce in Windurst, as the mobs that drop those are not exactly common in the area. However, some of the most common mobs drop fire crystals, so why in the name of all that's holy are people looking at 4k a stack? All I wanted to do was up my cooking skill to roast some damn mushrooms - I am not paying 4k gil for the privilege. In the end, I just used the four fire crystals that were lying around my mog house and figured I'd wait until people were being a bit more reasonable about the prices of fire crystals - last time I bought a stack of those, I paid just over half that. Seriously, people.
I haven't done much else but craft in FFXI of late - I'm still trying to raise enough gil to get various spell scrolls so I can go to Kazham prepared. So far I have Drown and Stone II, but I'm still saving up for Firaga. Now, this should not be a complicated thing, but something always seems to come up that screws with my ability to actually buy the damn scroll. Most recent was buying someone on my LS a set of Test Answers he needs for a quest. Now, on the one hand, generous to the point of stupidity. On the other hand, he got a loan from another LS person and bought me the Test Answers as well. Now, if only we could activate the quest we need to use them for...
Anyway, not the end of the world. My little gardening pots are still flourishing. I'll finish my vegetable planting before I head to Kazham anyway - the proceeds from that should put me over the top on gil for my Firaga scroll, and it'll give me time to do some more farming and crafting and work out how to activate that stupid quest so I can use the very expensive Test Answers. Honestly, I may not be able to do that for awhile, though - apparently one of the things you need costs upwards of 22k and I am not able to raise that yet. Well, I could, given an unlimited supply of shell bugs - shell bugs + lugworms + water crystal = bug broth worth lots of gil. Hmm. Maybe I should decamp to Bastok for awhile. They're bound to be more common there, coming from the shells of Quadavs as they do.
I really should get to sleep, as I am tired. I'm just not sure I'm that kind of tired. Taking naps in the afternoon is good in a way, but also is yet one more thing that screws with my circadian rhythms. Plus I've been feeling a little bit worse lately, which is never fun and makes it hard to sleep at the best of times. Anyhow, I can veg a bit first and see how I feel. I just want to be up and around properly for tomorrow, which is the RP party. Yay for the RP party! Well, yay if I'm well enough to participate properly...
