So I dug around through my icon folders last night (the various ones I made but don't tend to use) and uploaded a bunch of new ones. One of the favourites is the one I'm using for this Not-So-Gratuitous Icon Post. We like the baby sloths.

Beyond that, it's just another day at work. The Hollow City's finally back up so I can happily start working on journal bits and so forth. The head Storyteller, who's been on hiatus for a very long time, put in a call for people to send through some minor details on their characters and themselves so she can get to know everybody better. That's kind of nice, when you think about it.

There's this massive list of things to do - both in terms of desperately wanting to do them and realising that they have to get done. The obligations include Affils supplements (I'm seriously considering taking an entirely different tack on Bloodlines; I'm not liking what I have at all). The want-tos are numerous and strange, but are topped by a desperate desire to resume Sims 2 architecture. But since it's payday today, I can go out and pick myself up a copy of Sim City 4. Then I can spend Saturday going through maps of Silent Hill that nice SH fans have provided online and building an entire Sims 2 Silent Hill. Now, if only we could build round-walled buildings in Sims 2. Well, maybe next expansion pack. After all, MTS2 had several forums dealing with how to cheat a split-level house out of Sims 2, and next thing you know, Open for Business allows you to do it without faffing around. This is useful; I can do the Heaven's Night stage now...

Anyway, I guess I should do some work. I don't think I've ever been less in the mood, but I'll give it a shot.

It'll add yet more stuff to your "Things to do", but is a RPG that you can play rather than ST.

One of my housemates and myself are planning to run a Vampire LARP which will have a sizable downtime element - the characters will be the Primogen and suchlike of a city, not full on Elders of the Camarilla, but 200ish years dead. We're going to have both some players that will be coming to most/all of the games, and some that will come to few/none.

Anyway, rather than me detailing it all here, probably easier to

Initial anouncement, starting situation and discussion
Some further discussion and clarification
Character creation rules

Feel absolutely free to say you're not interested, just posting this here cause it would be a game you could participate in.

Definitely interested, just not sure if it's workable. Depends on where it is and what time, I suppose. Also, an idea of who's 'bagsied' what might be nice. I'm kind of toying with the idea of going for Keeper of Elysium; either Ventrue or Toreador, depending on what there's an excess of in your set-up.

The games will be in Exeter, particular day/time not set yet, I don't know if it's practical for you to come down here from your point of view. Like I mentioned, remote playing is quite doable.

We've currently got local player planning a Toreador who's also interested in going for Keeper. It's by no means an absolute rule, but I think we'd prefer the Keeper to be someone who is local, so that we can have them around for any games that take place in organised Elysium meetings, with the rest of the Kindred of the city in the background

In terms of those two clans, we've currently got that person who's fairly definitely going to play a Toreador, and someone else who's interested in playing a Ventrue, so it's currently equal. The person thinking of going Ventrue is not all that experienced with Vampire however, so one thing that could work is that you two could work together, and he can represent your views when you're not present (be that rare or often), and you can do a certain amount of helping him play an elder Ventrue (not carrying him along, just helping out as someone more experience with WoD and Vampire).

Ah. Exeter-based RPing. That makes things complicated. I'll give it some consideration, but on reflection, this whole set-up seems difficult. It's like it's trying to be everything at once. Which I suppose isn't a bad thing, but I'm not sure I'd take well to something where the PCs are sometimes NPCs and ...gyah.

PC's are sometimes NPCs? Not sure what you mean there -as far as I'm concerned PCs are PCs, just sometimes people will be NPCing (which I assume is what you mean).

Oh, hi, I'm Colin, the Other ST.

Hi, I'm terribly confused. Nice to meet you.

Really, though, all I need to know to say "No, can't make it, sorry" is that it's happening in Exeter on a weeknight.

Given that the invitation for people to discuss a good day/time for the game was, with one exception, completely ignored, I don't know when we'll be running it. It looks like we will likely end up running some games weeknights and some weekends, if some people are more likely to be able to make the latter. And yes, they will be occuring in Exeter.

As for not being able to make many/any games, see Pink's comments about remote players. We already have several.

Anyway, other than a quick 'loss', I shall get back to work now

Loss.
