Another Doctor's Visit

thessalianStill feverish. Still achy. Still feel like I'm going to throw up when I eat. The lurgy is evil. EVIL. And since I slept until 3 pm today, I'm not really all that sleepy now. Tired and hacked off at being so ill, but not sleepy per se. Though I could probably sleep. It's just that I'm all hot in the face, getting constant changes in personal temperature and generally in a lot of pain. This is not conducive to the idea of going to sleep.
Even going into Finchley to get Travelcard etc sorted out (because it expires tomorrow) was exhausting. Though I did stop into Woolies and pick up Serenity on DVD. Gave me something to watch and distract me from the general feeling of ick.
I am sensing that tomorrow is not going to be a day in which I leave the flat. Again. I really can't imagine myself feeling so much better in seven hours that I'll be able to drag myself to work. I'll set my alarm anyway, but the likelihood is that I will set my alarm, hear it go off, drag myself out of bed, email work again, go back to bed and pass out. Given that various glands are swollen beyond all recognition, it's looking like a doctor's trip will be in order. Antibiotics. Whee. So I suppose the email will go something like, "Dear Michael, still feeling horrible, glands swollen to buggery, going to doctor, probably going on antibiotics, will let you know how it turns out. Regards..." Though probably more politely than that. So the 7:30 alarm call will be beneficial after all, because once again I will have to go to the doctor on a drop-in basis and say, "Yes, this is something that requires immediate consultation with a doctor; the glands in my neck are the size of banana shallots, thank you!" Just once I'd like to go into the doctor with an appointment...
