...Um. Well. You know how sometimes you get really into the writing zone?

Yeah. It looks like my average speed has been 1503 words per hour. OMFG. Also, I think it's good. When I actually think it's good, when I think most of what I write verges between "shit" and "okay, I guess", either I'm onto something or it's the worst thing I've ever written. I hope it's not the latter. I'd hate to think that.

...Ten thousand plus words. OMFG. I think I can justify my few days of foraying into FFXI now...

With all today's writing, I felt that I had neglected my deathgnome so I went to check my auction house proceeds and maybe do a couple of quests. Deathgnome needs gil badly, you know how it is. So I spent about an hour running around San d'Oria and points Ronfaure-ish, and most of what I got was gear, mostly stuff I either already had or couldn't use. However, some of my auctionables did sell and I had more than enough gil to put that stuff up at the auction house. Besides, I'd sold my lvl 1 robe and the one I got for one quest should do to replace it for levelling my white mage until it hits lvl 12, when I can use the nice linen robe and know that I have good armour. This'll save on having to replace the old robe. Then I can sell it again, because by the time my BLM hits lvl 30 and I do the Summoner quest, I'll be able to get to Windurst and pull my original lvl 1 robe out of storage when I start levelling SMN. Until then, it's Bastok, San d'Oria and Jeuno all the way ... at least until I have to start levelling WHM in Valkurm. Oh gods...

Anyway, I'm not leaving San d'Oria until I've got rid of all those stupid leaflets I'm supposed to be trading to random NPCs for this one quest. In the meantime, I have four flint stones to give to somebody and then I can go murder Forest Hares and Wild Sheep for a few other quests and ... well, generally earn myself some decent gil before asking for a Tele-Dem so I can go to Bastok and farm Wadi Hares for grass clumps so I can feed them to this stupid chocobo in Jeuno, then go back and get my chocobo licence and get my egg to raise my own chocobo if I want it (and sell the bastard thing if I don't). Then I can ride through Buburimu and get that last Tele-Mea crystal over in Tahrongi and then I can start working on the other quests I need to do so I can be ready to join my LS for the 2-3 quest run this weekend.

Of course, this is when I'm not writing, job-hunting ... oh, and getting a camera shoved down my throat. Let's not forget that one. Because it's happening in eight hours and ooh, look; I'm too stressed to sleep. I'm really starting to hate this whole mess, you know.

Well, that was a miserable, uncomfortable waste of time.

So yeah, they tried to stick a camera down my throat today. Note the 'tried'. I mean, it all started out okay, as far as these things go - they stuck a needle thing in the back of my hand and used it to pump me full of sedatives, they sprayed the back of my throat with this really horrible local anaesthetic, there were nose tubes for added oxygen just in case, the works. I don't really remember all that much after the sedative, but I do have a vague recollection of being in fairly severe distress at least twice. Turns out that they were unable to get the camera down. I don't know exactly what went wrong, because even the explanation I got after I came 'round was cagey and not overly clear, but I do notice that everybody else in the recovery room with me had their oxygen tube things out long before I did (and the one guy who came in while I was recovering wasn't wearing his at all), and the nurses had to take a minute after they let me take the tube off to see how my blood oxygen levels were doing. I get the impression that, despite all assurances that there was no way that anything could go wrong with my airway during this procedure, something happened anyway, not only when the trainee was doing it but when the consultant took over as well. All told, I'm fairly glad I don't remember much more than a bit of choking and gasping.

So they let me go after awhile and I got sent down to X-ray. Basically they've now decided to fill me full of barium and take pictures of my innards that way. This entire mess is just never going to end, is it?

Don't know what I'm going to do with the rest of my evening. I'm admittedly not feeling with-it enough for much, but that may change in a few hours. For now, though, I'm going to go lie down. It's been a hard day, it seems.
